1. Our privacy commitment
This Privacy Policy explains how Licensedproducer ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use licensedproducer.com and related services (the "Service"). It applies to consumers looking for an agent, to people invited to leave a review, to insurance producers who list with us, and to visitors.
Licensedproducer is an independent, private, for-profit service. We are not a government agency, bureau, department, or regulator; we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any Department of Insurance, the NIPR, or the NAIC; and we are not affiliated with any insurance carrier or with InsuraCentral, which is a separate third-party service. Information you give us goes to a private business, never to a government entity.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide directly
- Quote Requests (consumers). Name, email, phone number, ZIP code and state, date of birth, gender, the type and amount of coverage you're interested in, a rough monthly budget, and — if you choose to answer — a general self-rated health category and tobacco use. Health and tobacco answers are consumer health data; see our separate Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy. Please do not put medical details in free-text fields.
- Reviews. The rating, review text, and the display name you choose. If you were invited by your agent, we also hold the first name and email address or mobile number your agent gave us to send the invitation.
- Agent accounts and listings. Name, email, phone, password (stored only as a salted hash), National Producer Number (NPN), license details, carrier appointments, specialties, years of experience, city and state, photo, biography, and testimonials you publish. If you request access before approval, we hold that request.
- Identity verification (agents). If we ask you to confirm identity, an image of a government-issued photo ID. This is sensitive personal information; see Section 8.
- Sign in with InsuraCentral (agents, optional). Your name, email, and NPN from InsuraCentral, plus a scoped access credential we use only to fetch your carrier list and, at your request, your own call recordings for import as testimonials. See Section 9.
- Do Not Contact requests. The email address and/or phone number you ask us to suppress.
- Communications. Anything you send us by email or through forms.
2.2 Information we collect automatically
- Device and usage data such as IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, links clicked, and timestamps.
- Approximate location inferred from IP address (city/region level) and the ZIP code or state you enter when searching.
- Cookies and similar technologies described in our Cookie Policy. Analytics cookies and session-replay tools run only if you allow them.
- Security signals from Cloudflare Turnstile (bot protection) and our own rate-limiting, which can include IP address and challenge results.
2.3 Information about you provided by others
Agents may give us a client's first name and email address or mobile number so we can send that client a review invitation. Agents may only do this for real clients they have served, and we use the information only to send the invitation, prevent duplicate invitations, and label the resulting review. If you receive an invitation you did not want, you can ignore it, reply STOP to a text, or use Do Not Contact.
3. How we use information
- To run the directory: show agent listings and public profiles, power search by location and specialty, and rank results using our methodology.
- To connect you with the agent you choose: deliver your Quote Request to that agent and notify you by email that it was sent.
- To collect and display reviews, including sending review invitations on an agent's behalf, verifying single-use links, labelling invited reviews, and notifying agents of new reviews.
- To verify agents: check licensure and identity, apply badges, and keep records of what was checked and when.
- To send transactional messages: email verification, password resets, lead and review notifications, access-request decisions, and policy updates. We do not send marketing email or text messages.
- To protect the Service: detect and prevent spam, fraud, fake reviews, scraping, and abuse; enforce our Terms; and secure accounts.
- To understand and improve the Service through analytics — only with your consent for optional analytics tools.
- To comply with law, respond to lawful requests, and establish or defend legal claims.
Automated decisions. We rank agents and assign badges using automated rules applied to agent listing data. These decisions concern agents' professional listings, not consumers, and do not produce legal or similarly significant effects on consumers. We do not use automated decision-making to profile consumers.
4. How we share information
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising. We share information only as follows:
- With the agent you choose. Your Quote Request goes to the one agent you selected. Your review and display name are shown publicly on that agent's profile.
- With service providers who process data on our behalf under contract and may use it only to provide services to us: Supabase (database and private file storage), Render (application hosting), Cloudflare (DNS, content delivery, and Turnstile bot protection), Resend (transactional email), Google Fonts (font delivery), and — only if you allow analytics — Microsoft Clarity and PostHog.
- With InsuraCentral, an independent third party, only when an agent chooses to sign in with InsuraCentral or import data from it, and only to the extent needed to perform that sign-in or import.
- Publicly, by design. Agent listing information (name, photo, city and state, specialties, carriers, experience, badges, testimonials, and reviews) is public so consumers can find agents. We never publish agent email addresses, phone numbers entered at signup, NPN images, or identity documents.
- For legal, safety, and business reasons. To comply with law or legal process, enforce our Terms, protect the rights, safety, and property of Licensedproducer, our users, or others, and in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets (in which case this Policy continues to apply).
5. Data security and breach notification
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit (TLS), salted password hashing, single-use and hashed review-invitation tokens, private storage for identity documents with short-lived signed access links, role-based access limited to a small number of administrators protected by strong credentials, rate limiting, bot protection, and audit logs of verification decisions. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If we discover a breach of security affecting your personal information, we will notify you and any required regulators without unreasonable delay and within the time required by applicable state breach-notification laws.
6. Your rights and choices
Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws — currently California (CCPA/CPRA), Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Florida, Delaware, Iowa, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Tennessee, Minnesota, Maryland, Indiana, Kentucky, and Rhode Island — have rights that may include:
- Access / know: confirm whether we process your personal information and receive a copy.
- Correct: fix inaccurate personal information.
- Delete: ask us to delete personal information we hold about you.
- Portability: receive your data in a portable, usable format.
- Opt out of sale, sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, targeted advertising, and certain profiling. We do none of these, and we honor Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out anyway.
- Limit use of sensitive personal information (we use it only for the purposes you'd expect: verification and matching).
- Non-discrimination: we won't treat you differently for exercising your rights.
- Appeal: if we deny a request, you may appeal, and we will explain the outcome; you may also contact your state attorney general.
How to exercise your rights. Email privacy@licensedproducer.com from the email address on file, or follow the steps on Your Privacy Choices. Agents can edit most listing details from their dashboard. We will verify your identity (usually by confirming control of the email or phone number we hold) and respond within 45 days, extendable once by 45 days where permitted. An authorized agent may submit a request with your written permission. We do not charge for reasonable requests.
Everyone, regardless of state: you can withdraw text-message consent by replying STOP, stop all contact with Do Not Contact, change cookie choices with the Cookie Settings link in the footer, and ask us to delete your account or data at any time.
7. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, then delete or de-identify it. Our current practices:
| Data | Retained |
|---|---|
| Quote Requests | While the request is being handled and for a reasonable period afterward for records and dispute resolution; deleted or de-identified on request. |
| Reviews | While the reviewed agent's profile is live; removed on a valid request or when required by law. Display names may be de-identified rather than the review removed. |
| Review-invitation links | Single-use; expire after 48 hours if unused. Re-sending within that window reuses the same link. The invitation record (first name, email or phone, status) is kept to prevent duplicate invitations and label reviews. |
| Agent accounts and listings | While the account is active and for a reasonable period after closure; deleted on request. |
| Identity documents | Only until identity verification is decided and any related dispute is resolved; deleted on request at any time. |
| Sign-in sessions | Agent and consumer sessions expire after 24 hours; administrator sessions after 12 hours; sign-in state cookies after 10 minutes. |
| Do Not Contact entries | Kept indefinitely so the suppression keeps working. |
| Security and access logs | Typically up to 12 months. |
| Analytics data | Per the vendor retention described in the Cookie Policy; only collected if you allow analytics. |
8. Sensitive personal information
We treat the following as sensitive: government ID images (agents), account credentials, precise health-related answers (consumers), and, where applicable, date of birth and gender. We collect sensitive information only when you provide it, use it only for the purpose it was collected (identity verification; helping the agent you chose understand your request), never sell or share it, never use it to infer characteristics about you, and never publish it. Identity documents live in private storage that is not reachable from the public internet; administrators view them only through short-lived signed links, and every verification decision is logged.
9. InsuraCentral user data disclosure (agents)
InsuraCentral is a separate, independent third-party service. If you choose "Sign in with InsuraCentral," this is exactly what happens:
- What we receive: your name, email, NPN, and a scoped access credential tied to your InsuraCentral account, issued only after you approve the sign-in inside InsuraCentral.
- What we access with it: your carrier appointments (to fill your listing) and, only when you open the testimonial importer, a list of your own recorded calls and — for the one you pick — that recording's audio, so it can be published as a testimonial on your profile.
- What we never access: your leads, contacts, messages, other users' data, billing, or anything outside those two endpoints.
- Storage: the credential is stored encrypted at rest and used only server-side. Imported recordings are stored with your listing until you remove them or we remove them under the Terms.
- Revocation: disconnect from your Licensedproducer dashboard, or revoke the credential inside InsuraCentral. Either stops all further access.
Your use of InsuraCentral is governed by InsuraCentral's own privacy policy. Licensedproducer does not control and is not responsible for InsuraCentral.
10. SMS and text messaging
Licensedproducer does not send marketing texts. Texts related to the Service are sent by the agent you selected, from that agent's own phone number and messaging systems, either after you submit a Quote Request with the consent box checked or when your agent invites you to leave a review. Message frequency varies by conversation; message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help. Mobile information collected as part of SMS consent will never be shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Full details: SMS Consent Disclosure.
11. Do Not Call and telephone consumer protection
Any consent to be called or texted that you give on the Quote Request form is consent for the specific agent you selected (and for us, for transactional messages about your request). It is not a condition of purchase and can be revoked at any time. Agents must honor your revocation, the National Do Not Call Registry, and state do-not-call laws. If an agent contacts you after you opted out, tell us at privacy@licensedproducer.com and we will act on it.
12. California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
This section supplements the rest of the Policy for California residents. In the preceding 12 months we collected the categories of personal information below, from the sources and for the purposes described in Sections 2 and 3. We have not sold or shared personal information in any category, have no actual knowledge that we sell or share personal information of consumers under 16, and do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes beyond those permitted by Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.121.

California residents may exercise the rights in Section 6 by emailing privacy@licensedproducer.com. Under California's "Shine the Light" law you may also request information about disclosures to third parties for their direct-marketing purposes; we make none. We honor Global Privacy Control as a valid opt-out of sale/sharing.
13. Consumer health data (Washington, Nevada, and others)
Optional health-category and tobacco answers on the Quote Request form are "consumer health data" under the Washington My Health My Data Act, Nevada SB 370, and similar laws. We collect them only with your consent (by choosing to answer), share them only with the agent you selected, never sell them, and never use geofencing. Our separate Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy explains your rights and how to exercise them.
14. Cookies and tracking technologies
We use strictly necessary storage (sign-in session, saved agents, bot protection, your cookie choice) and, only with your consent, analytics tools (Microsoft Clarity and PostHog). We do not use advertising cookies, pixels, or cross-site trackers. We honor Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals by treating them as "necessary only." Details, a full list of cookies, and how to change your choice are in our Cookie Policy.
15. Third-party links and services
The Service links to third-party websites, including agents' own sites and InsuraCentral, and loads resources from the service providers named in Section 4. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. A link is not an endorsement.
16. International visitors
The Service is operated from the United States and intended for U.S. residents. If you access it from elsewhere, you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.
17. Children's privacy
The Service is for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (COPPA) or from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, email privacy@licensedproducer.com and we will delete it.
18. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy. Changes are reflected by the "Last revised" date above, and material changes will be announced by email to registered users or by a prominent notice on the Service before they take effect where practicable. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.
